Indoor Air Quality in Fresno
Indoor air quality (of IAQ) refers to the quality of air within and surrounding a building, such as your house. IAQ plays a direct role in the health and well-being of your family as it affects general comfort, reduces productivity and has even been linked to Sick Building Syndrome. Poor IAQ can be caused by anything from cigarette smoke to ultra-fine particles, such as pollen or pet dander. What causes poor IAQ? Poor ventilation and high humidity are 2 of the leading reasons indoor air quality will score an unhealthy rating. Many newer homes are tightly sealed to conserve energy, but due to this, fresh air isn’t able to get into the home which traps allergens and can make the air feel stale.
Air quality is measured on an index from 0-500; the higher the rating, the more contaminants that are in the air. A healthy home should score between 0-51, but, on average, the outside air quality ranges daily between 80-100. While your existing HVAC system removes some contaminants from your air inside, without an air purification system, you’re still inhaling most of those same pollutants. Any of our 3 air purification products will help pull odor-causing bacteria, mold, pollen, pet dander and other allergens out of the air in your home, improving your comfortability and health.
