It’s easy to sometimes forget about the importance of air conditioning in Fresno. As long as it’s working and we can find some time to sit down and relax, it’s not difficult to be able to cool down during those summer days in triple digits.
Your pets may not always have that luxury, however. They depend completely on you to keep them cool and hydrated.
First things first, it’s dangerous to leave your pet in a car – even in the cooler weather. It doesn’t take much for a dog or cat to suffer from heat stroke. Your car can reach 104 degrees in as little as 30 minutes on a 70-degree day. So you can imagine how hot it gets inside on a 100-degree day.
When you’re at home, make sure you always have plenty of cool, clean water for your pet. If they stay outside, make sure there is plenty of shade. On extremely hot days, bring them inside. (You probably wouldn’t want to sit outside when it’s 98 degrees outside. Neither does your dog.) Finally, make sure your pet’s coat is under control.
Pets are incredibly important members of so many families here in Fresno. Don’t put your pets’ lives at risk by forgetting about them during the incredibly hot, summer days. Just a friendly reminder about your canine friends from your human friends at Lee’s Air!
